Ashley Graham was born on November 22, 1989 in Lincoln Nebraska. She grew up with her twin sisters and she was often bullied in school due to her sizeable legs. Graham was diagnosed at first by A.D.H.D. shortly after her elementary education. Although she had to face several obstacles, one of which was A.D.H.D. in her teens, Graham was able to triumph over the challenges. Graham was offered the chance to be featured as a catalog girl for several years, but was told she would never get past simple tasks. In 2009, she appeared as a model in "Glamour magazine"'s "These Bodies Can Be Beautiful in Any Size" together with Sally Singer. Graham was in the news once more in 2009, when she appeared in the controversy-making Lane Bryant commercial that ultimately was struck down in a number of countries. By the time the ad was removed from YouTube the video had already been viewed over 800,000. The controversy escalated until Graham appeared with Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show." She got her first big breakthrough in the year 2010, after she was featured on the Nickelodeon TV show Victorious. The character she played was Cat Valentine, an adolescent in a school for performing arts. When the sitcom was cancelled at the end of 2013, she was a guest in the spin-off program Sam & Cat (2013-14).
