Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell was an actress on television, ex-chef of the Institute of Culinary Education and formerly teaches cooking. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and also serves as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host sporting spiky blonde wigs and a pumped-up appearance, shares tips on how to prepare restaurant-style meals in your home with simple techniques. Chef Burrell is also a part of some of the top eateries in New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy as well as competed in Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell was born living in New York State's Upstate, began to develop a passion for cooking. She pursued her passion for the restaurant industry by enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English as well as Communication at Canisius College, Buffalo NY. She states "I loved being a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I loved every minute of it." The Culinary Institute of America was a fantastic place to study. After graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) during her time at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Her time spent in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate Italian philosophy and culture, and this has left an impact on her own culinary perspective. Burrell was a Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board member, which aims to improve the quality of life for children facing challenges. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation's celebrity ambassador and advocates awareness of children's diabetes. as a speaker, guest and teacher, she travels around the U.S. to share her love for cooking and professional career. Anne was always grateful that she could share the passion of and her passion for cooking, with people around the world.
